Moskau II
Measures : ca. 135 cm x 93 cm
Moskau is a series of two pieces until now. It is part of my series Coverings (since 2010), where i used epoxy as an additional layer on photos printed with ink as fine art prints. The base images of Moskau are taken from mobile phone video footage by somebody of a second after a bomb attack at Domodedovo-Moscow-Airport: In some way the fogg in the entrance hall merged with the bad resolution of the video into a dreadful, hybrid scenery of an afterward (attack). On one hand I was afraid to see images of death in the video footage, on the other hand i wanted to see (to find out) more. This contradiction interested me. Therefore I decided to cover some elements of the original images. Or did i add something with my epoxy intervention ? On a meta level Moskau can also be seen as commentary on mechanisms of reality production through different media such as video/photography/digital images an traditional painting.
